Itinerary
Day 1- Zanzibar - Dar Es Salaam - Mikumi
On this first day of your safari, you will take a flight in the early morning from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam. You will be met and picked up at Dar es Salaam Airport (Domestic Terminal) by your guide and start on your long drive to Mikumi National Park along the Dar es Salaam – Morogoro highway.
Mikumi National Park is nestled beautifully nestled between the Uluguru Mountains of the Ancient Eastern Arc Mountains to the East and the Great Rift Valley Escarpments to the park’s Southwest.
The park is located about 280 Km from Dar es Salaam but on a good tarmac road, and the transfer from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi may take about 4 to 5 hours depending on the traffic flow.
You will arrive around noon and go straight for game drives around the park with packed lunch at a picnic site or have a stop at a restaurant for hot lunch.
You will do game drives all afternoon until around 06.00 Pm when you will leave the park and check in at a lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.
Overnight at Camp Bastian a nice lodge located just outside Mikumi Park National Park at the park’s boundaries.

Day 2- Full day Mikumi National Park
If staying inside the park you can choose to go for an early morning game drive.
Breakfast at your lodge/camp then you will spend a full day with game drives around the Mikumi National Park with a lunch break at the lodge/tented camp if staying inside the park but if staying outside the park then you will have picnic lunch at one of the picnic sites.
Mikumi National Park is part of the larger Selous Ecosystem with the Selous Game Reserve and harbors remarkable numbers of bird species and animals.
Among the animals that can be spotted at Mikumi includes giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, zebras, hippos, impalas, warthogs, elands, wildebeests, and many other antelopes. Apart from game drives in the park you can also go for an afternoon walking safari guided by an armed ranger who is also a wildlife specialist and a naturalist. in Later afternoon, you will check in at a lodge or camp overnight. Overnight at Camp Bastian at Mikumi.

Day 3- Mikumi - Dar Es Salaam - Zanzibar
Breakfast at your lodge or camp early in the morning, then after breakfast we go for one last game drive in Mikumi Park before driving back to Dar es Salaam where the safari ends.

On arrival at Dar es Salaam, you will check in for the late afternoon flight back to Zanzibar Island.
End of the 03 days Safari from Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park.
Note that: Your flight from Zanzibar to Dar es Salaam and back to Zanzibar is included. You can also finish the tour at Dar es Salaam after the safari, which will cost less.
